Discover

Just 5 minutes walk down the historical zig-zag path lies a perfectly sheltered and spotlessly clean shingle beach.  Just a 15-minute walk further along from our hotel, is the harbour and Sunny Sands beach.  As one of the closest sandy beaches to London, it’s not surprising it’s visited by so many!  

Folkestone Harbour Arm Everything you need is close by, including cafes, pubs and shops.  Check out the newly restored harbour arm, an exciting place to visit if you are in Folkestone, the host of many events and activities.  Enjoy live music and plenty of places to eat and drink or simply take a stroll down to the lighthouse champagne bar.         

The Lower Leas Coastal Park is a beautiful environment, located directly opposite our hotel via the historic zig-zag path.  The park has something for everyone, including exquisitely landscaped gardens, an amphitheatre, exciting children’s adventure play area and dedicated barbeque zones. For a less strenuous return to the hotel, take a ride on the scenic Leas Cliff Lift.

The Leas Cliff Hall is one of Folkestone’s main attractions. Opened in 1927, the hall has seen its fair share of world famous acts and played host to a variety of shows ranging from comedy, concerts, ballet and even wrestling.  The hall is situated on the Leas, a couple of minutes walk from our hotel. 

Folkestone's Creative Quarter is described as "Folkestone's Cultural Heart".  Full of vibrant boutiques, interior designers and art galleries, the creative quarter is a must-visit destination. Golf in Kent

Littlestone Golf Club situated approximately 25 minutes from The View Hotel on the Romney Marsh.  The club dates back to 1881 and plays host to a variety of major golfing events.  The championship course is always in excellent condition and the clubhouse is full of character.  

The Railway

Romeny, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway provides you with the opportunity to discover and explore this unique part of Kent.  With a long history dating back to 1927, the railway has been an integral part of history for Romeny Marsh.  The railway hosts many events throughout the year including Halloween spectaculars, santa's grottos and also is a lovely setting for any celebration.  To find out more visit https://www.rhdr.org.uk/

 

Folkestone’s creative side

'Creative Folkestone' is an independent charity dedicated to enabling the regeneration of Folkestone through creative activity.  Many inspiring concepts have come out of this foundation including the Creative Quarter, situated in the Old High Street, where you will find quaint old properties given a new lease of life and turned into contemporary spaces including diverse boutique shops, cafes and a host of individual galleries.
